Calibration and verification

Reliable measurement results are ensured by metrological inspections of measuring instruments – calibration or verification at Metrosert.

Upon calibration, the relation between the value of a quantity indicated using a measurement standard and the value indicated by the instrument being calibrated is established under specified fixed conditions, i.e., calibration tells you how much deviation you can expect from the indication of your measuring instrument.

Metrosert is the largest provider of calibration services in Estonia. Our services have been accredited and are internationally recognised by the Mutual Recognition Arrangement of accreditation organisations, ILAC MRA.

The scope of Metrosert’s accredited calibration services has been approved under the accreditation certificate and its Annex issued by the Estonian Centre for Standardisation and Accreditation:

Accreditation certificate K001
Annex to accreditation certificate K001

The objective of calibration:

To ensure reliable measuring results. High-quality measuring systems and instruments that have been calibrated by an independent and reliable laboratory help Estonian companies maintain their competitiveness and prevent damage arising from quality issues.

What steps are necessary for calibration?

  1. First, choose the measuring instrument you would like to calibrate.
  2. Then, contact Metrosert’s customer service.
  3. We will inform you of the scope and cost of the service.
  4. Next, bring the instrument for calibration or invite our specialist to your location.
  5. Metrosert specialists will then calibrate the instrument.
  6. As a result, you will receive a calibration certificate along with information on how much your measuring instrument reading deviates from expected true value. You can then decide on the suitability of the instrument for use.
  7. Schedule your next calibration – the web based environment MÕIS for managing measuring instruments can assist you in this regard.

We will answer your inquiry as soon as possible.
