Data Scientist
Metrosert AS is investing into the healthcare data sector via a newly created research and development centre. Our new team in this field is highly motivated in creating patient benefit via enabling research and pharma collaborations in the health data sector. As we expand our team, we are looking for a talented Research Scientist to help us break new ground in use of personal lifestyle, clinical and biomedical data for healthcare services.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Statistical modelling and analysis: Tackling analytical challenges in working with large, complex datasets at the interface of biology, medicine and public health.
- Data management: Data interoperability and security, communicating with public and private sector data owners both in Estonia and abroad. Working with IT specialists on privacy and security measures for storing and processing sensitive and/or personal data.
- Providing input to research grant, ethics applications and data access requests.
- Progress presentation: Present project progress to team members and stakeholders, both internally and externally, highlighting achievements and addressing challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher education in a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering or maths) or equivalent.
- Good problem solving skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical modelling and analyses, including machine learning approaches, using R, Python, MATLAB or other computational environments for data analyses.
- Experience in working in Unix-based command line environments, including writing custom shell scripts.
- Good oral and written communication skills, including fluency in English.
- Strong organizational abilities with an eye for detail.
- Track record in advanced statistical analyses of large and complex datasets.
