Spring is an optimal time to carry out the verification of vehicle weighbridges and other measuring instruments. Metrosert provides accredited calibration and verification services, ensuring compliance of weighing instruments with applicable metrological requirements.
During verification, each individual instrument is assessed for conformity with the prescribed metrological characteristics and its type approval. In Estonia, the verification of non-automatic weighing instruments is performed in accordance with the standard EVS 912:2011 – non-automatic weighing instruments verification methodology. The validity period of vehicle weighbridge verification is one year.
The verification procedure begins with a visual inspection followed by test measurements. The instrument must be clean, free from damage, and installed and configured in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical documentation. It must also bear all required markings. The functionality of all essential components is verified as part of the procedure.

Please note that, in accordance with the methodology, the instrument must be loaded to at least 90% of its maximum capacity during verification (e.g. a weighbridge with a maximum capacity of 60 tonnes must be loaded with a minimum of 54 tonnes).
Pursuant to the Measuring Instruments Act, only type-approved and verified instruments may be used in commercial transactions. Upon a positive conformity assessment, verification marks are affixed to the instrument and a verification certificate is issued.
For both verification and calibration services, it is not always necessary to transport your instruments to our facilities—Metrosert specialists can perform on-site services across Estonia, in almost any weather condition.
