Metrosert joined the Estonian Maritime Cluster at the end of November, strengthening its position as a supporter of innovation and development in the maritime sector.

The decision was made at the Estonian Maritime Cluster’s board meeting, where ABB AS was also accepted as a member. Ragmar Saksing, the CEO of the Estonian Maritime Cluster, commented: “We are delighted to announce that AS Metrosert and ABB AS have been officially accepted as members of the Estonian Maritime Cluster at today’s board meeting. We warmly welcome the new members onboard!”

Metrosert’s joining the cluster is a significant step for the company. Priit Ilomets, the head of the hydrogen division at Metrosert’s Applied Research Center, explained: “Joining the Estonian Maritime Cluster is strategically important for us. It allows us to apply our knowledge and experience to promote innovation in the maritime sector, particularly in the field of hydrogen technologies. We believe that our contribution will support the sustainable development of the entire sector.”

With the addition of new members, the Estonian Maritime Cluster now has 54 members, and the total revenue of the cluster’s members amounts to 1.6 billion euros. This confirms the cluster’s position as one of the strongest and most respected associations in Estonia’s maritime sector. The Estonian Maritime Cluster is looking forward to future cooperation and believes that both AS Metrosert and ABB AS will bring valuable knowledge, experience, and innovation to the cluster, supporting the sustainable growth of the entire sector.

The Maritime Cluster was established on December 13, 2023, with the support of the Ministry of Climate and the leadership of the maritime sector. Its creation was an important milestone in the history of Estonia’s maritime industry: the cluster is dedicated to enhancing the international competitiveness of Estonian maritime companies and promoting innovation and research and development activities.
