As of 1 July 2025, the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) has been designated as the authorized operator of the national sponsor’s mark register for precious metal products. In connection with this, a new technical solution has been developed, and the register has been integrated into TTJA’s Tarvik information system.
It is mandatory for precious metal products to be marked with the manufacturer’s sponsor’s marks. Sponsor’s marks of Estonian manufacturers are entered into the national sponsor’s mark register, where the details of each sponsor’s mark and an image of the mark are stored. The register is important for market surveillance, consumer protection, and legal clarity for businesses.
From 2008 to 2025, Metrosert served as the operator of the sponsor’s mark register. Metrosert assumed this role in 2008 following the merger with the Estonian Assay Office. The transfer of register management to TTJA reflects the reorganization of state supervision and data management in the field of precious metal products.
The new sponsor’s mark register is accessible via TTJA’s Tarvik information system at: https://tarvik.ttja.ee/nimemargis/register
Metrosert will continue to provide precious metal assay verification and analysis services in accordance with the applicable legal framework.
