The competence of Metrosert’s structural unit, the Estonian Assay Office, includes services related to precious metals and articles of precious metal:
- Assaying the fineness and hallmarking of articles of precious metal
- Conducting material analyses
- Marking products with sponsor’s marks
- Laser engraving
- Consultations related to precious metals
The Estonian Assay Office is is designated processor of Estonian State Register of Sponsor’s Marks and has exclusive rights of precious metals items Hallmarking in Estonia
The analysis services of precious metals of the Estonian Assay Office have been accredited by the Estonian Centre for Standardisation and Accreditation as a testing laboratory in conformity with the requirements of EVS-EN ISO/IEC 17025.

Changes in the services of the Assay Office:
As of August 25, 2025, the range of services at Assay Office has been reduced and the price list has been updated.
We have discontinued the provision of gemology (gemstone identification) and expertise services.
We have discontinued the sale of reagents. Reagents can now be purchased from companies that supply jeweler’s tools, such as Tavast Eesti OÜ.
