Representatives of Metrosert attended the ESG Practitioners’ Annual Conference 2025

Kristel Tumm, Member of the Board of Metrosert, Evelin Kurmiste, Head of the Certification Division, and Anni Verk, Auditor, participated in the ESG Practitioners 2025 Annual Conference in February.

The event brought together ESG enthusiasts, sceptics and practitioners, offering a varied programme and valuable experiences. Speakers included the Sustainability Coordinator of TKM Group and the Head of Sustainability at Orkla Estonia, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Finance.

“Environmental sustainability and stewardship is an important issue that influences our everyday decisions, both at individual and organisational level,” said Evelin Kurmiste. “The Metrosert team considers it important to keep abreast of developments in the field in order to offer our clients the best support and advice. The conference further confirmed the need to consciously invest in a sustainable future.”

As part of the event, participants also had the opportunity to visit TalTech’s near-zero energy test house and TalTech’s Ehituse Mäemaja, which offered practical examples of sustainable solutions. The conference was inspiring and provided a lot of good ideas and practical tips that can be applied in everyday work.

Metrosert’s participation in the conference was a deliberate step towards knowledge expansion and professional development. ESG is becoming an increasingly important topic in auditing, which is why it is important that Metrosert’s specialists have a broad-based knowledge and are able to advise clients on topical issues. In addition, Anni Verk is currently working on her final thesis on ESG as part of her studies in quality management, and Evelin Kurmiste joined the EBS “ESG Management Development Programme” in January and is due to submit her final thesis. Both Anni and Evelin plan to join forces to bring ESG or sustainability more widely into Metrosert’s activities.
