Calibration and verification
Reliable measurement results are ensured by metrological inspections of measuring instruments – calibration or verification at Metrosert.

CALIBRATION
Metrosert calibrates instruments for measuring the density of liquids and the concentration of substances, the pH level, the electric conductivity of liquids, the relative air humidity, noise and gas content.
Metrosert’s capability in calibrating meters for ethanol content in exhaled breath (breathalysers) has also been approved as the Estonian reference standard.
Common measuring instruments that we calibrate:
- Density meters
- Areometers and alcoholometers
- pH meters
- Liquid conductivity meters
- Dissolved oxygen meters
- Hygrometers
- Noise meters and calibrators
- Alcometers (breathalysers)
VERIFICATION
- Motor vehicle exhaust gas analysers
- Evidential breathalysers
MEASUREMENTS
If necessary, we measure the density of liquids and environment and relative air humidity.
TRACEABILITY
- Density measurements are traceable to the density measurement standard of Zentrum für Messen und Kalibrieren GmbH (Germany).
- Liquid conductivity measurements are traceable to the mass measurement standard of the Estonian National Measurement Standard Laboratory via mass and volume measurements.
- The traceability of pH measurements is ensured by the use of buffer solutions calibrated in accredited laboratories.
- The traceability of gas content measurements is ensured by the use of reference gas mixtures calibrated in accredited laboratories.
- Sound pressure measurements are traceable to the measurement standards of the Polish Central Office of Measures (GUM).
- Relative air humidity measurements are traceable to the measurement standards of the Polish Central Office of Measures (GUM).
