Metrosert awards scholarships to two outstanding young talents from TalTech

On Tuesday, May 6, our HR Manager Kaia Udeküll gave away this year’s Metrosert scholarships to two remarkable master’s students at a ceremony held in the TalTech assembly hall. Their work and dedication reflect the kind of science and technology that shape the future.

  • The Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology Scholarship was awarded to Kristina Joarand, a Food Technology and Development student whose strong research interest and ability to connect physical analysis with food technology align well with Metrosert’s focus. Kristina’s previous work experience has honed her analytical skills and practical knowledge, and the Metrosert scholarship will support her ambition to focus on research and contribute to the development of a scientific direction vital for Estonia’s biotechnology industry.
  • The HealthTech Game Changers Scholarship went to Berna Sarraf, a Digital Health Master’s degree student, who stood out with her bold and purposeful approach to a complex healthcare problem and her willingness to step outside her comfort zone to develop a solution that supports patient care. Berna also impressed with her readiness to acquire new knowledge and skills and apply them in a practical context. We are proud to support young professionals like Berna, who bring significant value to the health sector through science, technology, and data-driven approaches.

Congratulations, Kristina and Berna – the future is in your hands!
