Metrosert awards scholarships to two outstanding young talents from TalTech

On Tuesday, May 6, Metrosert gave away scholarships to two TalTech master’s students: the Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology scholarship went to Kristina Joarand, and the HealthTech Game Changers scholarship was awarded to Berna Sarraf.

  • Kristina Joarand, recipient of the Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology scholarship, is a master’s student in Food Technology and Development. Her strong research interest and ability to connect physical analysis with food technology closely align with Metrosert’s focus areas. Kristina’s previous work experience has strengthened her analytical skills and practical knowledge, and the Metrosert scholarship will support her ambition to focus on research and contribute to the development of a key scientific direction in Estonia’s biotechnology industry.
  • Berna Sarraf, recipient of the HealthTech Game Changers scholarship, is a master’s student in E-Health who stood out with her bold and purposeful approach to a complex healthcare issue, as well as her willingness to step out of her comfort zone to develop a supportive treatment solution. She also demonstrated a strong eagerness to acquire new skills and apply them in a practical context. Metrosert supports young innovators who bring meaningful value to the healthcare field through science, technology, and data-driven approaches.

The scholarships were presented by Metrosert’s HR Manager, Kaia Udeküll, during a ceremonial event held in the TalTech assembly hall. Congratulations to Kristina and Berna – we wish you continued success in your studies and research!
