For the first time in its history, the Central Metrology and Applied Research Center Metrosert, in cooperation with the Tallinn University of Technology Development Fund Foundation, awarded two scholarships on Monday, 9 December.
Taltech undergraduate student Rauno Viil was awarded the €2,000 scholarship, as his studies in odometry are closely related to the main activities of Metrosert’s ADS laboratory for autonomous vehicles.
Margarita Burunova, a master student at Taltech, was awarded a €3,000 scholarship for her thesis on enabling hydrogen aviation at Tallinn airport.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tiit Land, Rector of TalTech, said: “Private sector investment in Estonian higher education and technical talent is very important, especially in today’s challenging times. “There is no doubt that every euro invested in higher education returns many times more,” he said.
The festive award ceremony took place in the TalTech lobby, where the winners were congratulated by Laura-Liisa Laving (center of the photo), Head of Partnerships at Metrosert.
Congratulations to the brilliant scholarship winners! Keep up the good work!
