On 11 August, a 10-member healthcare delegation from Gangwon, South Korea, visited Estonia to explore opportunities for cooperation in health data and artificial intelligence applications. Discussions focused on mapping potential areas of collaboration and planning further contacts and working formats.

At the meeting, Janne Pullat, Head of the Health Data Division at Metrosert’s Applied Research Centre, presented their expertise and services — ranging from health data analysis and modelling to validation and regulatory readiness. In the joint discussion that followed the presentations, the initial areas of interest for future cooperation were identified.
At the invitation of Estonian Business and Innovation Agency, Metrosert’s Head of Health Data Division also provided an overview of the possibilities offered by Estonia’s health data ecosystem: secure data access, test environments, and collaboration platforms that enable responsible testing and scaling of solutions.
The next step is to map concrete use cases and agree on working groups. Interest is mutual, and the focus is on practical steps that will lay the groundwork for potential cooperation.
