Description of a metrology service process
Where the customer has the need to check the measuring instrument or use a measurement service, it is worth contacting the customer service of AS Metrosert. Our customer service assistants will help you to choose the right service and will also familiarise the customer with the terms and conditions of the service (see also FAQ). When performing work, we follow the general terms and conditions of metrological services.
HOW AND WHERE SHOULD MEASURING INSTRUMENTS OR OBJECTS TO BE MEASURED BE TAKEN?
The measuring instruments can be taken to our customer service or sent with a courier. The measuring instrument should be accompanied by the data of the contact person and if possible, a more detailed description of the required service (or send an explanatory e-mail). When transporting measuring instruments, consideration should be given to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
In case it is not possible or reasonable to remove the measuring instrument, we will try to find a possibility to calibrate/verify the measuring instrument at the customer’s facility.
DEADLINES AND PAYMENT
As a rule the deadline for fulfilling calibration/verification order is five working days. In case of a longer deadline, the representative of the customer will be notified at the time the work is taken up. If possible, we fulfil orders faster and once the work is ready, the representative of the customer will be informed about it.
Payment for services is carried out on the basis of a price list after the work has been completed.
CALIBRATION AND VERIFICATION CERTIFICATES
After calibration we will issue a calibration certificate and if possible, place an informative sticker on the measuring instrument with the name and date of the certificate.
In case of verification, we will place obligatory verification marks on the measuring instrument and if requested, issue a verification certificate.
The certificate can be issued on paper or electronically. Certificates on paper will be delivered with the measuring instrument or sent by post. Certificates in electronic form can be sent to the customer via e-mail or uploaded in the information system of measuring instruments called MÕIS, where the documents are available at any time.
AN AGREEMENT OF METROLOGICAL SERVICES
For permanent customers with bigger order volumes we can provide discounts, more flexible payment terms and scheduled service with agreed execution deadlines both in our laboratories and at the customer’s facility (also outside Estonia) at the time of the conclusion of the contract.
